Each 6 weeks or so a competition is set for all members of Walthamstow District Photo Society with the prize of a bottle of wine from the competition setters vault. I've won the competition once, and the wine was good enough to keep me entering time after time. Last competition was on the theme of Waltham Forest, so I figured that anything within the district was eligible as a subject. I entered two photos, the first is a long exposure of a bus passing the pub, The Rose and Crown. This one was heavily influenced by another club members photography... a pale imitation.
The second photo is of the old pillar box in front of the oldest building in Walthamstow. There isn't one person at the club who hasn't seen a million photos of this pillar box. I was attempting to do something different, and I have a few more ideas of how to shoot this, but as I wasn't going for THE WIN this time around I just entered this one, it's fun. Here's the winner, just follow this link.
